| Obverse description | Two male heads facing, rendered in high relief on an irregular flan; the left head is depicted upright, laureate, with naturalistically rendered curling hair and open lips, displaying the accomplished Classically-influenced style of the Istrian mint. The right head is inverted, also facing, with similarly styled hair and features, a distinctive iconographic hallmark of Istrian coinage whose precise iconographic meaning remains debated — possibly representing the Dioscuri or a local river deity. Both heads are juxtaposed side by side, filling the field, with no inscription or border. |
