| Obverse description | Helmeted horseman advancing at pace to the right, depicted in early Classical Sicilian style, the rider shown bare-chested and controlling the horse with a light rein. The composition is enclosed within a dotted border, with a ground line below the horse rendered as a straight exergual rule. The high-relief modeling of the horse and rider reflects the accomplished die-engraving characteristic of early Aitnaean coinage. |

| Reverse description | Zeus enthroned to the right on an ornate throne with decorated legs, his himation draped about his lower body, holding a thunderbolt in his right hand and an eagle-tipped sceptre in his left. The god's bearded head is crowned with a wreath, and the throne legs are rendered with floral ornaments. The ethnic legend AITNAIΩN is distributed in Greek characters around the field, reading partially to the left and right of the central figure, with further letters in the exergue. |
