Obverse description Facing head of Hermes, rendered in three-quarter view slightly to the right, wearing a broad-brimmed petasos with a distinctive upturned brim decorated along its edge. The deity's youthful features are rendered with fine artistry characteristic of mid-4th century BC Thracian coinage, with wavy locks of hair falling loosely on either side of the face. The modeling of the face is bold and plastic, displaying high relief typical of the Ainean mint's accomplished die-cutters. No legend or inscription appears in the field.
