Obverse description Facing head of the river god Achelous, rendered in archaic style with a broad, bearded visage turned very slightly to the left. The face displays deeply set eyes, a prominent brow, and a short beard rendered with fine incised lines. The hair is shown in tight, stylized curls framing the forehead. The effigy occupies the full field of the flan with no surrounding legend.
