| Reverse description | The frontal head and neck of a cow presented in three-quarter view, turned slightly to the right, with prominent curved horns rising into the upper field. The bovine features are modelled in high relief with careful attention to musculature and curling forelocks between the horns, a hallmark of Euboian coinage. The ethnic abbreviation EY (for EYBOIΩN) is disposed in the upper field, with the epsilon (E or Ε in archaic form) to the left and upsilon (Y) to the right of the horns. The flan is broad and irregular, typical of hammered silver coinage of this period. |
