| Obverse description | Bearded head of Dionysos facing left, rendered in archaic style, wearing an ivy wreath in his hair and a plain torc-like necklace at the truncation, the latter bordered by a row of dots. The effigy is characterised by a long, pointed beard rendered with fine engraved lines. The field is enclosed by a border of dots set between two concentric linear circles, giving a neat, formal framing typical of early Sicilian coinage. |

| Reverse description | A pendant bunch of grapes hanging from a short stalk flanked by two naturalistic vine leaves, the individual berries rendered as raised pellets in an archaic dotted style. The inscription ΝΑΧΙΟΝ is arranged around the central device in the field. A border of dots runs along the inner edge of the flan, consistent with the obverse treatment. The overall composition is bold and emblematic, characteristic of the earliest coinage of Naxos in Sicily. |
