Obverse description Youthful bare head of Herakles facing left, rendered in archaic Cretan style with finely detailed curly hair swept back from the brow. The portrait displays strong facial features characteristic of late Classical Greek coinage from Crete, with the neck truncation visible at the lower field. The coin's irregular flan and hammered fabric are consistent with Phaistian mint production of the period.
