Obverse description Facing right, the laureate head of the nymph Histiaia is rendered in fine archaic-transitional style, her hair bound with a wreath of vine leaves and grape clusters. The portraiture displays characteristic fourth-century Euboean engraving, with delicate facial features and tightly curled locks framing the visage. The flan is irregular, as typical of hand-struck coinage of this period and region.
