| Obverse description | Eagle standing left in profile with wings closed, rendered in fine archaic relief with detailed feathering across the breast and folded wing. The bird's talons are firmly planted on the ground line, and the head is turned slightly forward with a hooked beak. The abbreviated civic legend ΑΒΥ, referencing Abydos, appears in the upper right field flanking the eagle's back. The execution reflects the accomplished die-cutting tradition of early fifth-century BC Troadic coinage. |

Circular pellets are visible in the lower lateral field areas.
