| Obverse description | Facing right, the laureate and draped bust of Apollo (or a female deity identified with Artemis), rendered in fine archaic Greek style. The hair is elaborately curled and bound with a wreath of olive or laurel, falling in wavy locks behind the neck. A beaded necklace adorns the throat, and a delicate earring is visible at the ear. The portrait is set within a beaded border on the irregular flan, reflecting the high artistic standards of Massalian coinage of this period. |
