| Obverse description | Janiform head occupying the full obverse field, featuring conjoined facing busts presented back-to-back: to the left, a youthful female head in profile with finely rendered wavy hair bound by a wreath of laurel or olive leaves; to the right, a mature bearded male head in profile, rendered with deeply incised locks and a full beard consistent with a Dionysiac or Zeus-like deity. The juxtaposition of the two heads is a hallmark type of Tenedos coinage, executed in fine Classical Greek style with high relief and naturalistic detail. |
