Reverse description A double-headed axe (labrys) depicted upright at center, serving as the principal device and civic emblem of Tenedos. A bunch of grapes appears in the lower left field and an amphora in the lower right field, both rendered in relief. The ethnic legend ΤΕΝΕΔΙΩΝ is disposed around the field, reading in segments: ΤΕΝ to the upper left, ΕΔ across the top or right, Ι and ΩΝ completing the inscription. The overall composition is characteristic of late fifth- to early fourth-century Aegean civic coinage.
