Obverse description Draped bust of Artemis (Diana) facing right, her hair elaborately coiffed and bound, with a quiver and bow visible behind the shoulder. The facial features are rendered in the Hellenistic Greek style characteristic of Emporitane coinage, with a prominent nose and finely modeled cheek. A wreath or laurel branch is partially visible at the right field near the coin's border. The overall style reflects the strong Greek colonial artistic tradition of Emporion, closely related to contemporaneous Massalian and Rhodian drachm types.
