Reverse description An eagle, wings partially spread and head turned to the left, stands perched atop a dolphin oriented to the left, which serves as the principal civic emblem alluding to Sinope's maritime identity. The eagle is rendered with boldly modelled feathering, its talons gripping the dolphin's back. Below the central device, the partial ethnic inscription ΣΙΝΩ appears in large Greek characters along the lower field, serving as an abbreviated form of ΣΙΝΩΠΗ. The composition is set within a plain circular border, and the reverse die exhibits the squared incuse characteristics typical of hammered Greek silver coinage.
