Reverse description An upright thunderbolt occupies the central field, depicted with lateral volutes and radiating flames rendered in fine relief, emblematic of Zeus as the presiding deity of Olympia. A pomegranate appears above the thunderbolt to the upper field, while a pinecone is placed below. The ethnic abbreviation F-A (for FALEIΩN or the Elean magistrate's initials) is disposed across the field to either side of the thunderbolt. The composition is spare and heraldic, consistent with the civic coinage of Elis in the Hellenistic period.
