Obverse description The crowned arms of the Dauphine — a quartered shield bearing fleurs-de-lis and a dolphin — displayed at centre within a polylobe (multifoil) inner border. The shield is surmounted by an open royal crown. The circular legend reads HENRICVS DEI G FRANCORVM RE, separated by pellets and a cross, running in Latin script along the outer periphery of the hammered flan.
