| Reverse description | A scalloped or cusped cross pattee divides the field into four quadrants: the first and fourth cantons each bear a fleur-de-lis, while the second and third cantons each contain a royal crown. This arrangement is the standard reverse type for the douzain coinage of Louis XIII. The surrounding Latin legend invokes a biblical blessing, with the date of issue appearing at the conclusion of the inscription. The flan edges are irregular, consistent with hand-struck production. |
