| Reverse description | A large plain cross pattée centered within a quadrilobe (quatre-foil) frame, all set within a raised inner circle. Small pellets or annulets appear at the terminals of the quatrefoil. The surrounding field between the inner circle and the outer toothed border carries the Latin devotional legend SIT NOMEN DOMINI BENEDICTVM (Blessed be the Name of the Lord), with the mint mark interspersed in the legend. The design is rendered in the restrained, formal style typical of Valois-era billon douzains. |
