Obverse description Draped and cuirassed laureate bust of Louis XIII facing right, wearing a ruff collar, set within a beaded inner circle. The royal effigy is rendered in low relief in the French Baroque style typical of early 17th-century copper coinage. The surrounding legend reads LOVIS XIII R D FRAN ET NAVA R, abbreviated from the full Latin titulature, with a notable reverse 'R' variant among the lettering. The legend is separated from the bust by a beaded border, and the coin's flan shows characteristic irregular edges consistent with hammered production.
