Obverse description Bust of Henri de la Tour d'Auvergne, Duke of Bouillon, facing right, depicted bearded and wearing a ruff collar, set within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding circular legend in Latin reads HENRI.DE.LA.TOVR.DVC.D.BVILLO., identifying the issuing prince. The portrait is rendered in a bold, somewhat provincial hammered style characteristic of small feudal copper coinage of the late sixteenth century.
