Obverse description Laureate bust of Henri IV facing right, with the legend commencing at 6 o'clock. The mintmaster's mark, a mitre, attributed to Jean Malus (active 1587–1594), appears adjacent to the mint letter K for Bordeaux. The inscription is rendered in Latin capital letters within the outer legend.
