Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Henri III facing right, rendered in a somewhat coarse hammered style characteristic of late 16th-century French copper coinage. The king is depicted with a ruff collar visible at the truncation. A beaded inner circle frames the central effigy, while the surrounding field carries the abbreviated royal Latin legend. The portrait conveys the conventional royal iconography of the Valois period.
