Hasan 'Ali's reign was catastrophically short — he seized power within the fractured Qara Qoyunlu confederation after his father Jahan Shah's death in 1467, only to be defeated and killed by the Aq Qoyunlu (White Sheep) under Uzun Hasan at the Battle of Murādlū in 1468. This coin is effectively the final coinage of the Black Sheep dynasty, struck in the same year the confederation collapsed entirely. Very few issues bearing his name reached anything resembling normal circulation.
