| Obverse description | Bearded bust of Julian II facing right, pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed, rendered in a confident late Roman portrait style. The emperor's effigy displays a prominent beard, a distinctive feature of Julian's iconography reflecting his philosophical Hellenic affectations. The encircling Latin legend reads D N FL CL IVLIANVS P F AVG, distributed around the bust in the field. |
