| Obverse description | A rampant lion facing left, set within a decorative Hollandic garden (tuin) border composed of stylized foliage and branches. The lion holds a combined quartered shield bearing the arms of Holland and Zeeland. A continuous Latin legend runs around the periphery of the coin, partially obscured by wear. The overall style is characteristic of late medieval Low Countries hammered silver coinage. |
