Obverse description Armored and draped bust of King Henry II facing right, bare-headed with short beard and moustache, wearing an ornate lace collar and elaborately decorated armor with pellet ornaments visible at the shoulder. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the late Renaissance hammered style. The circumferential Latin legend runs along the inner border, separated by dot stops, with a beaded inner border encircling the bust.
