Obverse description Within a beaded inner circle, the enthroned Madonna is depicted seated upon a crescent moon, holding the Christ Child in her right arm. An escutcheon bearing the Austrian arms appears in the lower field beneath her figure. The composition is executed in the late Renaissance style typical of Habsburg Hungarian coinage, with the Madonna rendered in high relief. The surrounding legend runs along the periphery outside the beaded circle.
