Obverse description Central field bearing a pointed quatrefoil ornamental device rendered in low relief, characteristic of the Golden Horde hammered coinage of the late 13th to early 14th century. Arabic legends surround and integrate with the central motif, with the mint name Ukek (اوكك) and the AH date 700 (corresponding to 1301 AD) inscribed within the field. The flan is irregular and slightly concave, exhibiting typical characteristics of hand-struck medieval Islamic coinage. Strike is moderately bold in the centre but weakens toward the irregular flan margins. Surface retains original silver luster in the higher relief areas.
