| Obverse description | Bare or lightly draped bust of Philip II facing right, rendered in low relief in the crude hammered style typical of late 16th-century Burgundian copper coinage. The portrait occupies the central field with a plain inner border. A circular Latin legend runs along the periphery, partially obscured by the irregular flan, reading + PHS . REX . CATHOL . HISPA, identifying Philip as Catholic King of Spain. The flan is notably irregular in outline, consistent with hand-cut planchet production of the period. |

| Reverse description | Plain central field with no central device, surrounded by a circular Latin legend reading + D . ET . COMES . BVRGVNDIE followed by the date, identifying Philip II as Duke and Count of Burgundy. The legend is set between the rim and the field, distributed around the full circumference of the irregularly shaped flan. The reverse is typical of small Burgundian copper issues of the period, relying entirely on the inscribed legend rather than a central type for identification. Strike is weak in areas due to the hammered technique and irregular planchet. |
