Additional information

Stacey Milbern, a disability rights activist who co-founded the Disability Justice Culture Club in Oakland, is honored here as part of the American Women Quarters Program authorized by Congress in 2020. Milbern died in May 2020 at age 33, making her one of the youngest individuals ever depicted on a circulating U.S. quarter — and among the few honorees selected posthumously within the same year as their death.
