Obverse description Neptune reclining to left, his right hand operating a lever and his left arm resting on a large pipe from which water gushes, with waves below and aquatic foliage to the right. The legend NASSAU WATER WORKS curves around the upper field, with the date inscription COMMCD. JULY / 1856 in the lower exergue, and the microscopic maker's mark F.B.S. & H. on the base line.
