Obverse description Bimetallic token with a brass centre plug set within an aluminium ring. The brass centre bears the legend REPUBLICAN above and INTERNAT'L below, with DOLLAR across the middle; radiating between the centre and the outer ring are five raised bars representing silver bars, with four concentric arc lines filling the intermediate zone. The outer aluminium border carries a lengthy promotional legend in relief reading around the full circumference.

Reverse description Bimetallic reverse with the same brass centre plug inscribed REPUBLICAN DOLLAR, surrounded by the aluminium ring bearing the legend INVENTED AND PROTECTED BY DANA BICKFORD in the intermediate zone. Eight chain links arranged in a ring each contain the equivalent value of the dollar in a different world currency: Sterling 4.2, Francs 5.20, Kronen 3.80, Gulden 2.8, Marken 4.16, Guilder 2.50, Rouble 9.65, and Yen 1.1. The outer border legend reads around the full circumference.
