| Obverse description | A driver facing right, holding a goad in his raised right hand and the reins in his left, seated upon an ox-drawn cart moving to the right. Above the scene, a crested Corinthian helmet faces right. In the field between the legs of the ox, the Greek letter Π is visible, with I to the right and Ǝ above, serving as abbreviated ethnic or denominational inscriptions. The composition is rendered in a bold archaic style characteristic of early Macedonian and Thracian silver coinage of the late Archaic period. |
