| Obverse description | Hammered silver flan of irregular roundish form, pierced with a small circular hole near the upper rim. The central field bears the royal tughra of Sultan Murad IV rendered in bold Ottoman calligraphy, with characteristic looped and elongated strokes filling the field. The design is executed in relief against a flat, unadorned ground, consistent with the provincial hammered coinage of the Damascus mint. |
