Obverse description Central field dominated by the elaborate tuğra (imperial monogram) of Sultan Mehmed III, rendered in the characteristic Ottoman calligraphic style with sweeping loops and upward rising shafts. The tuğra encloses the sultan's name and titles in stylized Arabic script. A dotted border frames the periphery of the flan, which is irregularly shaped as typical of hammered Ottoman silver coinage. The design is deeply struck, with the calligraphic elements in high relief against a flat field.
