Obverse description Central field bearing the Arabic inscription 'عام' (Year) above the Hijri date numerals '1286', all contained within a circular cartouche formed by a stylised double-arc border. The surrounding field carries additional Arabic marginal legend partially visible along the periphery of the irregularly shaped flan. The coin bears a circular piercing at the left, indicative of secondary use as an ornament or pendant. The overall execution is characteristic of the hand-struck hammered coinage of the Alaoui Sharifian dynasty, with the raised legends showing bold relief against a flat, granular field.
