| Obverse description | Central field contains a multi-line Arabic inscription arranged horizontally within a plain inner circle, surrounded by a dotted border. The legend, executed in Kufic or Naskh script, carries the name and titles of the Ildegizid atabeg Shams al-Din Ildegiz along with the citation of his Seljuq overlord Mas'ud. The flan is irregular and slightly clipped, typical of hammered billon coinage of the period. The overall design is aniconic, consisting entirely of epigraphic content as was customary for Islamic coinage of the 12th century. |

| Reverse description | The reverse displays a multi-line Arabic epigraphic legend arranged in horizontal lines within a plain inner circle, itself enclosed by a continuous dotted border. The inscription bears the Islamic profession of faith (Shahada) and/or honorific titles, consistent with standard Ildegizid dirham typology. The field shows the flat, slightly worn surface characteristic of billon hammered coinage, with minor die misalignment visible at the periphery. The flan is irregular in outline with slight flattening at the edges, common to hand-struck issues of 12th-century northwestern Iran. |
