Reverse description The reverse displays multiple horizontal registers of Arabic Kufic script filling the central field, enclosed within a partial inner border. An arched or lunette design element is visible in the upper portion of the flan, framing the uppermost line of text. The inscriptions follow the standard Sunni shahada formula with additional lines naming the Abbasid caliph and the Buyid amir, as was customary on Buyid silver coinage of this period. The flan shows areas of porosity and toning consistent with age and burial, and the die is somewhat worn, resulting in partially legible legends at the margins.
