Reverse description The reverse presents a central circular medallion containing Arabic religious and titulary inscriptions, most likely the Shahada or the ruler's name and titles, arranged in concentric registers. Multiple circular lines divide the field into distinct epigraphic bands, a layout typical of Chagataid dirham coinage of the mid-13th century. The marginal legend runs around the outermost register, partially weak due to the irregular hammered flan. The overall composition is characteristic of the Islamic numismatic tradition as adapted by the Mongol Chagatai Khanate at the Almaligh mint. Surface wear and toning are consistent with genuine circulation use.
