Obverse description Central field bears the Islamic shahada inscription arranged in three horizontal lines within a plain border. The Arabic legends are rendered in angular Kufic script typical of Chagataid coinage. The flan is irregularly shaped, as is characteristic of hammered Central Asian dirhams of this period. The field shows moderate wear with the lettering remaining largely legible. No figural imagery is present, consistent with orthodox Islamic numismatic convention.
