Obverse description Enthroned frontal figure of the ruler depicted in the round, seated cross-legged upon a low throne or cushioned base, rendered in a bold, schematic style characteristic of Artuqid and related Jaziran copper coinage. The figure raises one arm, possibly holding a globus or orb, with the opposite arm extended outward. Arabic inscription fragments are visible in the right field. The design reflects the strong Hellenistic and Byzantine iconographic influence common in 12th-century northern Mesopotamian hammered copper dirhams.
