| Obverse description | Central field bearing the Arabic mint inscription within a six-pointed star (Seal of Solomon) formed by two interlocking triangles, a design characteristic of Alaoui Sharifian coinage. The legend identifying the mint of Fes is inscribed within the star's central hexagonal space, with additional Arabic lettering filling the surrounding points of the star. The flan is irregular and slightly clipped, typical of hammered silver dirhams of the period. The overall design is struck in a bold, angular style consistent with Moroccan hammered coinage of the late 18th century. |
