Reverse description Central field bearing the Arabic mint name of Marrakesh and the AH date rendered in large, bold characters; the visible numerals correspond to a Hijri date within the range 1256–1261 (AH), consistent with the reign of Sultan Moulay Abd al-Rahman. A circular Arabic legend surrounds the central inscription, with the sovereign's name and religious formulae distributed around the field. The flan is irregular and slightly oval, characteristic of the hammered and cast technique used at the Marrakesh mint during this period. A post-issue piercing hole is present at the lower edge of the coin.
