Reverse description Reverse field displays multiple lines of Arabic Kufic script arranged in horizontal registers across the flan, recording the name and titles of Sultan Mahmud of Ghazni along with the name of the Abbasid Caliph as suzerain, affirming political and religious legitimacy. A marginal legend encircles the central inscription, partially visible around the irregular edge of the flan. The overall layout follows the standard Samanid-derived epigraphic format adopted by the Ghaznavid mint, with no decorative border beyond the outer legend.
