Obverse description The obverse bears a central legend in Uighur script, executed in a cursive hammered style characteristic of Ilkhanid coinage. The inscription fills the field in multiple horizontal registers without a formal border, consistent with the irregular flan typical of this series. The Uighur lettering reads the Mongol phrase attributing the issue to Arghun Khan in the name of the Great Khan (Khagan). The die-work is bold but shows the typical irregularity of hand-struck production, with letters occasionally running to the coin's edge.
