Reverse description A central square frame encloses the Shahada (Islamic profession of faith) inscribed in elegant Naskh script. The area outside the square is divided into four segments by the corners of the inner frame, each segment containing a portion of a marginal legend that records the mint name and regnal year written out in full in Arabic words, reading from the top and proceeding clockwise. The overall composition is typical of Ilkhanid silver dirhams, combining orthodox Islamic epigraphy with dynastic mint and date information.
