| Obverse description | Large diademed male head in Roman style occupying the right portion of the field, depicted in left-facing profile with dishevelled hair; a smaller crowned Byzantine-style bust faces forward at left, clad in a draped garment. A legend in late Kufic script arcs above the central design from approximately 2 to 11 o'clock, bearing the ruler's personal laqab and the honorific title Malik Diyarbakr.
