Obverse description Entirely epigraphic design executed in the Kufic script tradition characteristic of Umayyad coinage. The central field bears three horizontal lines of Arabic religious legend, framed within a single linear border. A concentric marginal band carries a further Arabic inscription encircling the central panel, separated from it by a plain inner border and from the coin's irregular edge by a beaded outer border. The surface displays the characteristic flat, hand-struck fabric of Andalusian hammered dirhams, with slightly uneven flan edges.
