Obverse description Central field dominated by bold Arabic calligraphic inscriptions arranged within a square cartouche framed by linear borders. The inscription reads the religious formula and royal titles associated with Sultan Hisham ibn Muhammad. A decorative foliate or vegetal motif occupies the upper portion of the coin above the cartouche, with additional marginal Arabic text or ornamental devices surrounding the central square. The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the edges, characteristic of hammered coinage of this period. The overall style is consistent with late 18th-century Moroccan Alaouite hammered silver dirhams.
