Obverse description Central field occupied by a multi-line Arabic calligraphic legend in cursive Naskh script, disposed across the flan in several horizontal registers. The inscription names the ruling khan and his titles, reading 'Sultan the Just Nasir-ud-Din Toqtamish Khan.' The lettering is boldly struck with characteristic Golden Horde die style, with individual characters showing deep relief against a flat, unadorned field. The coin's irregular flan, typical of hammered Jochid dirhams, results in partial legend truncation at the periphery. No border ornament or geometric frame is present.
